While our style of yoga is strong and athletic our classes and non competitive and aim to synchronise breath and movement, to gain total control of the body.

You don't need flexibility or strength to begin classes. All you need is yourself, a Yoga mat and the willingness to make an effort! With that effort comes physical and mental strength and control , concentration and deep relaxation.

What they say:

‘The Yoga Shala has established itself as Galway’s most popular venue for strong physically challenging yoga.’

City Tribune

‘Without a doubt the team has benefitted from taking classes at the Yoga shala. We have noticed a significant change in the range of movement in Hips and Hamstrings.’

Gavin Malouf, Head Physiotherapist, Connacht Rugby.

'The Yoga we've done has really helped my back and freed up my movement. Squats are much easier and my strenght has improved as a result. I really enjoed it in the preseason so I went to regular classes each week to keep it going.

John Muldoon, Ireland A and Connacht Rugby Captain.

Horizon have already sent him to seeing biomechanics expert Dr Paul Hurrion, who also works with top players such as Padraig Harrington. But he’s also working with McDowell’s mind coach Dr Karl Morris and looked to Galway based yoga instructor David Cunningham for help with his fitness.

'Horizon have been great and sent me to all the right people. I’ve had some problems with arthritis in my lower back after my football career, So the guys at Horizon set me up with a yoga instructor and this has made an unbelievable difference.

Extract from the Irish Times on Sunderland Soccer star turned professional golfer Stephen Grant.

'With all I the running I do in training and games my hamstrings and hips can get tight. The work I’ve done with Laragh and Dave has helped free them out and given me energy to push on with my training. The breathing techniques we have worked on are really good for clearing the mind and focusing.’
Alan kerins , Galway Hurler and all Ireland winning Footballer
